A Cave of Wonders

Marble Caves, Patagonia, Chile

Yesterday, I posted a picture of this cave and lake, and asked you to guess where this is. Today, I’m providing you guys with the rest of the information. They are called the Marble Caves in Patagonia, Chile, and they are beautiful vibrant blue caverns, partially submerged in the equally stunning turquoise waters of Carrera Lake. The lake itself is on the border of Argentina and Chile, with the caves located on the Chilean side.

  1. I would love to go there and see for myself. I understand it’s hard to get to. Is this true? How would one get there?

    • Hi, I found this on a website. The person asked the same question that you asked, and the person replied with what is below. I hope this helps

the best way (cost, time, accessibility) a flight Sky or Lan to Balmaceda (Lan has a direct flight of only 2,5 hours) rent a cat in the airport (also there are two daily buses to Rio Tranquilo, base for Marble caves, but depart at the morning to late to combine with flight arrival at same day)

In Lake Carrera area you have access to Glaciers Exploradores, Leones and San Rafael, treks along Exploradores Valley and Cerro Castillo
