Our True Founding Father: Galatians 5:1

Galatians 5:1 – Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Today, as we celebrate our nations founding and its many freedoms, let’s not forget that true freedom comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Christ died on the cross so that we become free from bondage of sin, so that we may have eternal life in his kingdom. We honor Washington, Franklin, Adams, and Jefferson–no question, those men did a noble thing by helping form this nation–yet, Christ offers much more than the freedoms of speech, religion, assembly, press, and petitioning the government. Jesus said, “If you abide in my word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31,32) The truth that he holds will give you peace, comfort, and understanding that we all seek. Seeking him him and knowing him will give you an eternal reward that liberates you from the bondage of this world. That’s true freedom.
